E1311. A FANCY FRENCH FOLDING KNIFE. The 8 ¼” clip pointed blade is inscribed with the makers name, Beauvouf. The grip is sheet brass mounted fitted with 2 separate scales on each side. 2 scales appear to be faux tortoise shell the other 2 are bone with scrimshaw scrolls. One bone scale has a minor age crack, the blade has a dark patina. Generally very good condition overall. Overall length extended is 17 ¼”, circa 1840. $375.
